Anime (アニメ, an abbreviated pronunciation in Japanese of “animation)  is animation originating in Japan. The world outside Japan regards anime as “Japanese animation”. Anime originated about 1917.the world. Distributors can release anime via television broadcasts, directly to video, or theatrically, as well as online.

Both hand-drawn and computer-animated anime exist. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases, and represents most, if not all, genres of fiction. Anime gained early  popularity in East and Southeast Asia and has garnered more-recent popularity in the Western World.

Types of anime:

Josei (女性, Josei literally “woman”): anime as target audience of young female women. Examples: Nana, Paradise Kiss.
Kodomo (子 供, Kodomo literally “child”): anime focused on child audiences. Examples: Pokemon, Hamtaro.
Seinen (青年, Seinen literally “young man”) as target audience anime young adult men. Examples: Cowboy Bebop, Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood, MONSTER.
Shōjo (少女, Shōjo? Literally “girl” or “girl”) anime geared towards teenage girls. Examples: Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Candy Candy, Full Moon wo Sagashite.
Shōnen (少年, Shōnen literally “boy” and “boy”): anime geared towards teenage boys. Examples: Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, Shaman King, The Candidate for Goddess, DNAngel, DNA.

A Otaku

It is a Japanese term to refer to people with particular interests in anime, manga, and video games. In the Western world, the term “Otaku” is used to describe one who is fond of animation and Japanese culture. While in Japan, is considered one word to describe a fan of something, even some Japanese regard the use of the word an insult.

This Japanese-language word reached the west by the meaning of amateur manga, anime, etc.., and has no negative connotations it has for the most in Japan.

The title “otaku” comes from the honorific particle taku Or the word, which means house. It employment in the 80’s as a second person pronoun between amateur photographers because it is believed that low social photographers, awkward, introverted and obsessed with their profession. Being an “otaku” took on negative connotations and is used to refer to any amateur introverted and obsessive. A stereotype that would define the young man, who spends at home without work and has few friends apart and others “otaku”.

Etymology of English costume play, costume interpretation, practiced mostly by people, is to disguise himself as a character (real or inspired) from a manga, anime, movie, book, comic, video game or even singers and groups and try to interpret the possible. Those who follow this practice are known as cosplayers, being for them one of his main hobbies.

The cosplay phenomenon emerged on the 70 Comic Market in Japan, held in Odaiba (Tokyo) places of purchase / sale of Dojinshi. This event is still performed today. There, groups of Japanese dressed in their favorite characters from manga, anime, comics and video games. The number of followers of cosplay has always been on the rise, it is increasingly common to see people dressed in any convention, and it is not uncommon nowadays to see that in the premieres of major film productions to meet groups wearing their finery in the halls of the cinema.
Cosplay contests are very common in the conventions of comics and some will have the opportunity to get in free by wearing your costume. Of course, in those events abound called Kamek (kozo kamera, camera guy) working to take pictures of the cosplayers, after which copies are offered as a gift.
